We Believe

The Bible. We believe that the Bible is the written word of God and a revelation of God and His purpose for man.

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work”. 2 Timothy 3:16

“The written word of God is living and powerful”. Hebrews 4:12

Jesus Christ: We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. We believe that Jesus Christ is the foundation of the Christian life and faith

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life”. John 3:16

“For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ”. 1 Corinthians 3:11

The Cross: We believe that Jesus Christ was crucified, died and resurrected after three days. We believe that Jesus took all of our sins and carried them up on the cross in order for us to be reconciled with God.

“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God”. 1 Corinthians 1:18

“He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all things under his feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.” Ephesians 1.20-23

Repentance: We believe that in order for us to be saved we have to acknowledge that we are all sinners and repent from our sins.

“Then he said to them, “Thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem”. Luke 24:46-47

“Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” then Peter said to them, “Repent and let everyone of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:37-38

Baptism: We believe in water baptism in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and in the baptism in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. We believe in the empowerment of all believers by the Holy Spirit.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”. Matthew 28:19

“For John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now”. Acts 1:5

“And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance”. Acts 2: 4

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to me”. Acts 1:8

New Birth: We believe that whoever receives Christ as Savior receives, in Christ, the being or nature of God Himself. As a born again child of God we are reconciled with God and no longer a slave of sin and Satan.

“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God.” John 1:12

Salvation: We believe that after death eternal life begins either in Heaven or Hell. Where you spend eternity will be determined on whether you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord or not.

“If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved”. Romans 10:9

“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved”. Acts. 4:12

“I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die”.

John 11:25-26

“If a man does not abide in me, he is cast forth as a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire and burned”. John 15:6

The Lord’s Supper: We believe that the Lord’s Supper, consisting of the elements, bread and the fruit of the vine, is the symbol memorial of His suffering and death.

“For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes”. 1 Corinthians 11:26

Holiness: We believe that holiness is God’s standard of living for His people.

“ ..He who says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.” 1 John 2:6

“Strive for peace with all men, and for holiness without which no one will see the Lord.” Hebrews 12:14

“May the God of peace sanctify you wholly; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept sound and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful and he will do it.” 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24

The resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation together with those who are alive: We believe in the resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation, together with those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord, is the imminent and blessed hope of the church.

“For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with archangel’s call, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first, then we who are alive, who are left, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so we shall always be with the Lord.”  1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

Titus 2:12; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52; Romans 8:23

Faith: We believe that faith is acting on the word of God.

“Faith apart from works is barren”. James 2:20

“And without faith it is impossible to please him. For whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him”. Hebrews 11:6

Healing: We believe in divine healing – the restoration of physical, emotional and spiritual health to those who believe that Jesus is able to heal them and that are willing to receive this healing and act upon the truths written in the word of God. Jesus is our Healer, and by his stripes we are already healed.

“He sent his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions”. Psalms 107:20

“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that made us whole, and with his stripes we are healed”. Isaiah 53:5

“My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ears to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes: Keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh”. Proverbs 4:20-22

Giving: We believe that tithes and offerings should be freely given to build up the body of Christ. We believe in giving alms in the name of Jesus Christ to the poor, sick, homeless and others in despair.

“Bring the full tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house; and thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing”. Malachi 3:10

“And when you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap your field to its very border, nor shall you gather the gleanings after your harvest; you shall leave them for the poor and for the stranger: I am the Lord your God.” Leviticus 23:22

“He that goes forth weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him”. Psalms 126:6

The mandate of every Christian: We believe that it is the will of God for all Christians to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ.

“All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the messages of reconciliation. So we are ambassadors of Christ, God making his appeal through us. We beseech you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God”. 2 Corinthians 5:18:20

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned”. Mark 16:15

“And Jesus came and said to them, “ All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with You always, to the close of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20
